Located in downtown Amherst, Massachusetts, Boltwood Place is a mixed-use development with ground-floor retail and restaurant spaces below 12 gracious apartments. Built on a tight site, the structure meets its lot lines while still providing excellent natural light in the units through a heavily glazed southern elevation. This contemporary building’s exterior speaks two distinct design languages: the white clapboard New England vernacular on one side, and open, glassy modernism on another. Its high-quality, fine-grained aesthetic fits well with Amherst’s varied but classic architectural styles.
