Emma Chait
Designer
echait@jonesarc.com
Emma was born and raised in Los Angeles, where her architect father instilled in her an early appreciation for design and the built environment. Her love for the arts began as a child spending weekends exploring art museums and later working as a wardrobe assistant at a local theater company for many seasons. She developed an appreciation for the world of design, which would shape her career path.
Emma pursued higher education at Oregon State University (go beavs) before transferring to the University of Oregon (go ducks), where she earned her Bachelor of Architecture. Her final year of school was at the UO Portland campus, right in the heart of downtown. It was during this time that she fell in love with the city, and she chose to make Portland her home.
Early in her career, Emma is eager to learn and grow. With a particular interest in sustainable materials and universal design, she’s excited to explore how thoughtful architecture can create more inclusive, enduring spaces. Outside of her professional life, Emma enjoys playing tennis (occasional pickleball), baking cookies, and spending time with her partner and dogs. Emma’s background and love for design continue to inspire her work and drive her passion for architecture.
